Exploring Biology

            Biology is the study of life, from cells to the entire ecosystem. It might be the most interesting science topic for me. I find to be very interesting and easy to learn about. Because of our science teacher I have understood biology more. 

I have also learned more things about it. I learned more about the male and female reproductive system, which is important to learn about because it helps us learn more about our bodies. Another topic that we have discussed is about our hormones. I found that learning about hormones was also really interesting because it is the chemical messenger in our bodies.

All of the topics that we have discussed were very interesting and important for us to know. You just have to listen to understand biology. I am looking forward to learn more things that I haven't learned about biology.

OASAN

Biology is a natural science and it's the one that explains living organisms and species. When our teacher, Sir. Romeo Dolor, explained biology, I was very happy. Not only is biology interesting, it was also very easy to understand.

One of the topics our teacher had discussed was about hormones. I never knew that our brain emitted signals that can cause changes in the body. I was ecstatic when I learned that we would be using the laboratory because science is actually fun. Hormones were the ones that sticked to me the most because I felt that it was very easy to understand and that it was very important for teenagers to have. Another topic that we discussed was the reproductive system. This was a very interesting topic and I learned a lot more about it than I did before.

All in all, the topic biology is actually pretty easy and very interesting.

Biology, defined as the scientific study of life, is an incredibly broad and diverse field.

When Mr. Dolor discussed about biology, science got a lot more interesting for me because I can learn more about my body and my cells and other biology related topics. I'll learn how my body works and how this organ works and other kinds of stuff. An example of the topics that we've discussed is the reproductive system, what I've learned about that is how the parts of the male and female private part work like the testicles, the testicles is where the production of sperm occur and per drop of sperm it has 300,000,000 to 400,000,000 sperms. That is why people should study biology more often to further increase their knowledge about what's going on with your body.

Biology is a natural science concerned with the study of life and organisms, both animal, plant, and humans.

The first thing that came into my mind when I heard "biology" was taxonomy or the identification of species. It is also about the different types of elements of matter. For me, biology is hard because it involves memorization. But, I still want to learn it. The thing that made me interested in biology is that the reproductive system is involved. I learned a lot more about copulation than I did before.

The first thing that came to my mind when I heard Biology was that it meant life. Biology excited me and fascinated me. It was interesting and I had a fun time learning it. Although we aren't through with discussing biology, there are a few topics that we have already tackled.

One of these topics are the reproductive system of the male and female species. Although we have all learned this when we were in grade school, we have tackled it again this year. It was refreshing to learn about this topic now that my mind has a better understanding of it than when I was younger.

          

                                   

                             I can say that I am looking forward for more lessons under biology in the near future and I hope it would be just as interesting as this past month's lessons.

So, for me, biology is really hard because you need to memorize a lot of terms. And I'm actually having a hard time understanding the topics. But, I'm trying my best to learn from it.

Activity 29: Negative Feedback Mechanism

Our First Lab Experiment!

        We have conducted an experiment in which we have related our bodies' hormone levels with ice cubes and heat. I had a fun time doing this activity. We observed the temperature of the water per minute and we added more ice cubes as the time went by. In the end, we all drew diagrams and filled out tables about our observation. All in all, I had a good time performing the experiment with my group mates.

We melted ice and took it's temperature. At first we placed one ice cube, then two, and then three. We took it's temperature every time we placed a new batch of ice cubes. The experiment was interesting because it somehow relates to how hormones react. The activity was quite simple to do but you do need the proper materials to do it.

The experiment we did last week was amazing. The things we did and the things were learned were very fun and interesting. I didn't realize that the experiment we did was actually connected to us and our hormones. The experiment actually had me baffled. Instead of melting the ice, the water just got colder. Even with fire! The members and I had fun doing it and we'd like to do it again someday.

The experiment that we did was pretty exciting and fun because what we did was put ice cubes in boiling water and observed if the temperature was going high or low. Which the temperature almost stayed the same. What I learned from this experiment is that when we put too much ice cubes in boiling water, it will take a lot of time for the water to boil and it will get much colder. This experience was amazing and I'm looking forward on trying it again in the future.

During the experiment it was interesting for me how the temperature became steady after a while. At first the temperature rose when there was only 1 ice cube placed in the beaker. Meaning the fire can still change the temperature more than the single ice cube can. But when more ice cubes were placed in the beaker, the temperature went lower. This is when it became interesting. The ice cubes started to dominate the temperature and after a few more minutes the temperature became colder.

Birth of our Biozine

           Creating the magazine was definitely not an easy task. Our group has encountered tons of problems with this project. Although we had a hard time completing the magazine, I'm still glad we didn't give up on making it. Our biozine talks about the evolution of species. I can say that I have learned from the lessons in our magazine. Our magazine may not have been the prettiest, but I can definitely say that a lot of hard work and effort had been put into making it. 

PALOMARA

Creating the magazine with my group mates was very interesting to do but it was also quite hard to make. We had searched a lot of information about evolution and other things related to it. We also needed a lot of time and effort to make it, we couldn't finish it in just an hour we needed a day or two to finish it. We had to make it look good and unique for us to get a good grade for it and for us to be satisfied with our work. I think our magazine looked good and very interesting to read.

OASAN

The magazine was fun to edit. I'll admit, I didn't help make it but I did help with the poem and the design. I had a lot of fun editing it with Dani, our group leader. She was the one who did most of the work but I still had efforts on it. The results of our hard work was beautiful. It wasn't like the other group's but it was still beautiful because we worked hard on it and it had our sweat and brain cells ingrained on it. The designs were beautiful, courtesy of our group leader, and the game was fun, courtesy of the assistant leader. Although, all of us were stressed because of the deadline. All in all, the magazine was fun to make!

MARIANO

Making a magazine is really new for me because it's just my first time. This magazine shows everything about just 1 topic i guess they're all related to the evolution of man. Making a magazine is not that easy because you need to gather some information before making it. For me, making a magazine is fun and it's a new experience for me.

SARMIENTO

My opinion on our magazine is that i think it looks nice and cool. It was a nice idea to represent Charles Darwin at the front page since i admired his theory of evolution. The magazine has nice contents. The trivias and news we had were nice, even though i do not like study about animals so much. I still find it attractive. Even the local news were amazing. Other than that for me we had a nice picture taking of the producers of the magazine. My favorite picture was my solo though. That is all i can say about our magazine.

First of all shout out to my group mates because without them this magazine right here wouldn't be possible. I just wanna share my thoughts about this magazine, this magazine is very important to me because it represents all the hard work our team did and the whole magazine was about the human evolution which is very useful to students and researchers as well. And also shout out to our science teacher Mr. Dolor for guiding us all the way through the process, we appreciate you sir, thank you for believing on us. God bless!

There's Something About Physics

Physics is a hard but informative topic. One of the lessons we have discussed is about the electromagnetic spectrum. This topic consists of the range electromagnetic waves in order of increasing frequency and decreasing wavelength. I find this topic to be interesting but quite boring. The only reason I find this topic boring is because I do not understand most of the things that comes with it. Although I am awestruck by the fact that Physics is observed in real life and in our simple everyday lives.

          In our subject, we have also talked about the reflection of light. The reflection of light is a small part of the electromagnetic spectrum. For me, this topic has been interesting and easy to remember. The only problem I have with this topic are the formulas that are needed to solve for the given problems.

          In conclusion, I can say that I have learned a few in Physics. But as they all say, there is always room for improvement. I want to learn more about Physics because it is observed in our everyday lives. I want to grow as a student who understands Physics and as a human who understands how things work.

From all of the topics my science teacher has discussed, I think that "Reflection" was the easiest to understand. I liked how he defined everything so clearly and even answered our stupid questions. I, however, disliked the fact that I sometimes couldn't even understand him because he was speaking too fast. I also liked the way he made us watch a short film to understand the topic much more. I learned a lot of things concerning reflection. One of my most favorite parts were the concave and convex mirrors. I liked them because they were kinda easy to remember. Concave mirror, also known as converging mirror, is the mirror pointing outward. The convex mirror, also known as diverging mirror, is pointing inward. They were the easiest for me.

I also think that refraction is easy. I believe that it was easy for me because it is slightly alike with reflection. It was
easy for me to understand the difference though. I also understood the topic more because of Snell's law or the Law of Refraction.

Electromagnetism was the hardest for me. I had a hard time learning some variables concerning it but because of the book, I kinda got it. I liked how the powerpoint our science teacher did helped me understand it more. I disliked the fact that I still can't seem to grasp some formulas connected to it.

All in all, I think that the easiest topic was reflection while electromagnetism was the hardest.

Physics is a branch of science that studies about movement. Sounds simple but its not actually. Its not just about pushing and pulling of an object like what was thought when we were still grade 1. Actual study of physics involves exact calculation (involves math) of motion or anything physical movement whatsoever. Its not fun for me but for people who like Math subject probably would find it fun. Its definitely not easy, it involves problem solving and a lot of complication. Even if its hard and a pain to study its a very important branch of science.

To be honest, I didn't really learn that much. For me, physics is really hard to understand. I try to learn it, I really do, but my brain doesn't process it. Although it looks quite confusing, I feel that it is also fun and exciting. I'm looking forward to understand and learn more about physics.

Our teacher, on the other hand, is great and I have no problems with him teaching us except that he speaks fast. He is doing a really good job and, sometimes, I feel as though he's a professional.

Thank goodness physics is over! I'm looking forward to biology which is not as complicated as physics.

Honestly, Physics is really hard for me to understand especially the calculations. Although I'm trying my best to learn from what my science teacher taught us. The only problem is that he talks so fast even if the students doesn't pay attention. But he is good in making powerpoints and that also helps us to understand the lessons. The electromagnetic waves is the only topic that I know. And I want to learn more about physics because I might need that in the future.

The easiest lesson for me was the one about the properties of light. I learned the most from that lesson. It thought me how light travels around 300,000 kilometers per second and that it could travel the earth eight times per second. Light also travels faster than sound. It is also an electromagnetic radiation that has properties of waves. I This lesson was the easiest for me to understand because it was the easiest that stuck in my brain.

The lesson that I didn't understand the most was the one about waves. There were some points about it that I didn't understand that much. It was the lesson that you had to know each and every type of wave. That lesson wasn't that much hard but it was the one that I had to study more about. I think that all lessons are very interesting but you really have to study hard for you to try to understand it all.
